Global Citizenship & Children’s Rights Network
Global Citizenship & Children’s Rights Network (GLOCCRIN) brings together academic researchers, students, independent researchers, and practitioners from across the global south who are keenly interested in interdisciplinary studies surrounding global citizenship and children’s rights, particularly topical issues such as social justice, inequalities, culture, sustainability and inclusion. GLOCCRIN welcomes both those in academic and non-academic roles interested in the knowledge, understanding and advancement of children’s rights.
WHAT WE DO
GLOCCRIN is based at Leeds Trinity University and has representatives in other universities in the UK and internationally to support research and publications relating to global citizenship; social justice, culture, sustainability; inclusion and children’s rights, particularly in the global south.
The research network seeks to engender a confrontation between different approaches and ideologies in the field of global citizenship and children’s rights by:
Providing
An interactive platform for members to contribute to contemporary debates nationally and internationally
Collaborating
To conducting high-quality research, which provides evidence for policymaking, knowledge exchange, public engagement, and publications.
Inspiring
Inter-disciplinary research on global citizenship and children’s rights in the global south and the diaspora
Planning
Workshops, seminars and conferences.
Fostering
Comparative approaches which bring about the contrast between societies and between national sociological traditions
Examining
Critical discourses and confronting ideologies and narratives that underpin inequalities and social injustice
Engaging
With civil society and political groups in discussions that feed into policy and research as well as advance the values of global citizenship and children’s rights

Funding streams for knowledge exchange and community advocacy to impact policy in relevant areas.
Developing
Meaningful partnerships with non-academic organisations and professionals with expertise
Sharing
News and events of mutual interest such as conferences, scholarships and funding opportunities and collaborating in funded applications and publications.
